Instamic Stories | VIDEO | Michelin

I am Thibault Menu, French videographer.

I used Instamic for different shots in this video project for an important client as Michelin, especially in drones sequences.

I love how it completely immerse the viewers into the action, really makes you feel like you're riding the bike yourself.

I really am dedicating myself more into piloting drones and I'll soon get a new big drone, but my instamic is definitely staying in my kit and will sit perfectly by my side.

I used the instamic for other shots, especially for the buggy and the dirtbike. I shot this piece by myself and sometimes it's hard to organise everything and be efficient, so I just attached the mic on the buggy or the bike and asked Yannick to go around for like 5 minutes to record audio by itself while I was preparing the drone, looking for a new angle or just moving all my stuff.

Then in postproduction, I have around 5 minutes of audio for each discipline and I can play around and add audio where I need to. Just happy with what I got to produce with it, but can't wait to come up with a new concept that would really showcase its possibilities."

Instamic really has a big production value, especially for a one-man band like me.

Here's an sample of a drone footage with the sound coming from the ground. I have attached Instamic with the tape clip, windshield on and fastened with some gaffa tape to secure it during Yannick's crazy evolutions.
